oh my aching back.

And then there's Noah

Every inch of his personality is the opposite of his sister's, and every inch of my heart loves him just as much.

coloring in black and white

Even in black and white the serious, calm and quiet colors in Emma's personality come drifting into her playtime.

Can't you just hear the silence?

There's just something about a quiet morning that brings such contentment.  With both Rachel and Bill gone for 2 days(sigh), the quiet is sublime.  However, at some point I would like my noise back.

considering the lines

When I first looked at this picture I thought to myself "Oh, another picture of a bridge with some cool lines of shadow. However, as I looked at it for a while, I started focusing on those lines, and here's what came to mind.  There's life, straight and uncomplicated.  It's the zig zag lines that really started me thinking, the ups and downs I have sometimes on a daily basis.  Then, if I look down the path a little further, I see a  total blocking in the line, a big dark area bringing the line to a halt for a while.  That blockage is what I do not look forward to.  That blockage is where my faith comes in handy.

My silly neighbors are a delight and one of the best parts about living here. Here's to the Sconsett point gang who always make me laugh.

It works not only in tennis, but in almost every other aspect of life.

Bob

So many times people enter our lives, leave a mark then exit almost as fast as they entered.  That was the case with Bob.  Have fun on your trip to China Bob, and thanks for the 411 on the flood of "55".

the bride's bouquet.

Old and abandoned.

It's one thing to be old, we can embrace that state.  Its filled with wisdom, character and a whole lot of good memories.  What scares some, is being old and abandoned.  It's a lonesome place to be.  I don't worry all that much though, I know love will be there for me when I need it most, it already is.

reflecting on reflections

Can you even imagine before mirrors came to be, what wonder must have been felt the first time a person saw their reflection in the water. Just a thought: What would it be like if we never really saw ourselves, physically. Or even more thought provoking, what if, what you were inside was reflected in your beauty on the outside. Kind of like the movie Shallow Hal. Hmmmmm I'm just wondering what I would look like. Just a few rambling thoughts on reflection

Papa

Papa looks at her.  He turns her this way and that.  He takes a good look into her eyes.  Hmmm he thinks, this one could be a boater.

it was a good ride.

In the, oh so wise, words of Miley Cyrus...

Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb

36 years.

Job well done, fellas

The best part was the look on their faces when the crazy lady came out and asked if she could take their picture for her blog.  The giggling was priceless, especially when she said "NO smiling".
